Entry requirements
Ideally you will have relevant knowledge, skills and understanding. This may be demonstrated by one or more of the following:
- A Health and Social Care course at SCQF level 5.
- A relevant NQ course or units at SCQF level 5.
- National 5 English or Communication at SCQF level 5.
- Life experience and the ability to work at SCQF level 6.
You will also need:
- A real interest in working with people.
- A satisfactory reference if you don't have formal qualifications but have relevant life or volunteering experience.
- An interview with us during which you will complete a short written activity.
- Applicants whose first language is not English should have a minimum SQA ESOL National 5 or equivalent.
You should be aware that you will be asked to join the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme on all care courses at level 6 or above and be occupationally fit for practice.
Course content
