A trio of trainee cocktail creators from Ayrshire College’s Steps to Hospitality Level 4 course are the only students from a Scottish college competing in the prestigious TUCO Mixology Competition at Warwick University near Coventry next week.

Declan Sloan (age 23), Ryan Macaulay (age 21), and Marco Biggley (age 21), who are all studying at our Kilmarnock Campus, will showcase their mixology skills, working against the clock in a series of three rounds designed to test their technical expertise, creativity and service standards.

The competition, which takes place on Wednesday 16th April, will see the students craft an original cocktail using ingredients of their choice, a refreshing mocktail and will also put their knowledge to the test in a classic cocktail making blind challenge.

The students travel to Warwick on Tuesday 15th April, ahead of the live competition in front of spectators the following day. The trip will culminate in a gala dinner, where the winners will be announced.

Best of luck to our aspiring mixologists!
